Winter Bird Walk

Saturday morning was our first offered Winter Bird Walk at Wild Birds Unlimited in Fort Collins, CO. We had a great group of 14 new birders join us. We had nice looks at a Rough-legged Hawk, Downy Woodpecker, Black-capped Chickadees, 45+ Mourning Dove Flock, Hooded Merganser male, Robins, White-breasted Nuthatch and others. It was tons of fun! Our next walk will be in May for the International Migratory Bird Day celebration. Come join us! Photos by Lauren DeRosa, owner of the Fort Collins, WBU.

A couple of happy birders.

Thanks for sharing your photos with us. I really enjoyed the winter bird walk–glad my friend Patty asked me to join her! We walk and hike together and we like the exercise “while gabbing which makes the time fly” aspect of a walk and now we both find ourselves looking for birds when out walking! We spotted a bullox oriole nest yesterday! It has added a sweetness to my walks ( I think it has for Patty as well) to connect with the wildlife through bird-watching.

Thanks again for a memorable morning. Your knowledge blew us away!

  2. It was fun, wasn’t it? The trip in May should be even better. Hope to see you there.
